Individual Therapy
Some people come to individual therapy ready for their own reckoning. They have a sense of what they want to face or understand more deeply. Others arrive simply knowing that something in their life, relationships, or inner world is no longer working the way it once did.
Either way, something in you already knows it’s time.
How I work
I pay close attention to what is happening between us in real time.
- How are feelings being expressed or avoided?
- What happens in your body as we talk?
- Where does your anxiety live?
- What feels difficult to say directly?
- What patterns begin to emerge between us that also show up elsewhere in your life?
This is not accidental. The ways we protect ourselves, reach for connection, manage closeness, avoid vulnerability, or adapt to other people tend to appear in the therapy relationship too.
That is often where the deepest work lives.
I will share what I notice. Sometimes I may get it wrong and you are welcome to tell me so. You may feel relieved, understood, exposed, annoyed, uncertain, emotionally stirred up, or deeply seen. All of that is meaningful information.
I believe real change happens not only through insight, but through experiencing something different emotionally and relationally in the room itself.
Not just understanding. Something actually shifting.
What to expect
This work is experiential. That means we will attend carefully to what is happening between us in the moment, not only to what is happening in your life outside of it.
You may experience feelings that are uncomfortable — sadness, guilt, anger, grief, longing. These are usually temporary. They often mean we are getting somewhere.
Therapy is not always short. Some things start early in life and take longer to work through. Struggles with substances or other complicating factors can affect the pace. I will be honest with you about that as we go, and I may not always see what is happening quickly despite my best efforts.
I cannot guarantee that therapy will be of benefit. Your participation is voluntary and you may withdraw at any time. If you are thinking about leaving before we have finished, I would ask that we talk about it first.

I am a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT) through the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapists, BC Division (CAMFT), a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) through the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), and a member of the International Experiential Dynamic Therapy Association (IEDTA).
